Welcome to the Route Watch section of the Tates Travel Group website. Here you can keep up to date with the latest Roadworks and Disruptions which are affecting our routes across Yorkshire. This page will be updated regularly.

You'll also find information on forthcoming service changes by Tates Travel Group, to our bus routes across Yorkshire from time to time, on this page. Our services will only generally change at 5 set points within the year as set out by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE), and these are January, April, July, September and October. However this may not be able to be the case all of the time.

These are usually done over the course of the last weekend within these months mentioned. There may be changes outside of this months however, though this shouldn't generally be the case. If this is the case, you will be notified of this in due course on this page of the website, along with a notice been posted about this change in the 'Latest News' section.

Roadworks & Service Disruptions

Winter Disruption - Winters now upon us and due to the rural routes we serve some services may be liable to disruption or short notice cancellations. These are beyond our control and it is our company policy not to run buses on un gritted roads. We will endeavour at all times to operate all services on main arterial roads missing out estate roads as necessary. This is particularly relevant to services operating in the Penistone, Holmfirth and Stocksbridge areas. Certain school journeys may also be disrupted and routes may be varied for safety reasons.

Service Changes

The following service changes and revisions will be implemented from Sunday, January 29 2012:

NEW Line 64 Hillsborough - Rivelin. New service linking Hillsborough, Lower Walkley and Rivelin, funded by SYPTE. The new schedule can be downloaded from the 'Schedules & Maps' page.

Line 72 Chapeltown - Manvers. Schedule revised to improve punctuality and there will be a small route change in the Manvers area, running in both directions along Manvers Way, rather than returning to Wath via Doncaster Road. A revised schedule can be downloaded from the 'Schedules & Maps' page.

Line 268 Hillsborough - Wharncliffe Side. Schedule revised to improve punctuality, with new short workings also introduced between Hillsborough and Middlewood (Eastwood). A revised schedule can be downloaded from the 'Schedules & Maps' page.

NEW Line X12 Rotherham - Barnsley. New service linking Rotherham, Masbrough, Kimberworth, Droppingwell, Thorpe Hesley, Pogmoor and Barnsley, introduced following the cancellation of the present service by another operator. The service will continue to run up to every hour Monday through Saturday, following the same route as present. The new schedule can be downloaded from the 'Schedules & Maps' page.

The following service changes and revisions will be implemented from Tuesday, January 3 2012:

Line 34/34A Shafton - Barnsley. Schedule revised to improve punctuality and also observe the new Shafton ALC. A revised schedule can be downloaded from the 'Schedules & Maps' page.
