The sociable network - £1 fare for your friends...

If you're a MetroCard holder, a friend can travel on the bus with you and only pay £1. This tickety is only available on Saturdays and Sundays.

On Saturdays and Sundays, from January 7 until April 1, all Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly & Annual MetroCard holders can take a companion for a flat single fare of £1 on any bus service* in West Yorkshire.

The MetroCard+1 offer is available for use on bus only in West Yorkshire. It is not available to buy or use on West Yorkshire’s rail network.

(*MetroCards cannot be used on NightRider services, football or concert specials, long-distance coaches, excursions, tours, contract, chartered or other private-hire bus or train services.)

All you need to know to get your +1

You'll need to show your valid MetroCard to the driver and ask for ‘MetroCard+1’ ticket and pay £1.00 for your friend. The driver will then issue a ticket ‘MetroCard +1’ for them!

Remember, you'll need to do the same for each additional bus journey you wish to make, as the +1 ticket is only a single journey ticket, so the above will need to be repeated for each subsequent journey undertaken.

You don't need to complete your journey together either, so if you both need to get off at a different stops that's absolutely fine.
