We currently operate a fleet of over 40 vehicles across the Barnsley area. We operate a wide range of vehicles, with most vehicles meeting DDA compliance, 5 years ahead of schedule. Most of our services are now operated by low floor easy access vehicles, making your journey with Tates Travel even more accessible and convenient. We operate School contracts on behalf of SYPTE and commercial School contracts. We also operate a large number of bus services across Yorkshire - mainly focused on Barnsley. Barnsley Interchange Departure Stands We've produced a handy guide to show where our buses depart from in Barnsley Interchange, which can be accessed by Tates Travel Group try at all times for our buses to depart from their correctly allocated departure stand, but unfortunately at times we find our departure stands blocked by other operators. This is obviously beyond our control and we are trying to resolve this problem with SYPTE. Should the stand be blocked, we will endeavour to use the next available stand. Should this cause you inconvenience please write directly to SYPTE, stating your complaint in full. New services launching in Rotherham... Yes, you read that correctly! From Saturday, July 24 2010 we will be launching 2 brand new bus services in Rotherham, serving the districts of Eastwood, Clifton and East Dene. For further information on these new services, please refer to our seperate website for lines 56/57, which can be accessed by Similarly, we are also launching a new service on Saturday, July 24 2010 between Barnsley and Meadowhall, the X10. This service will operate hourly throughout the day Monday through Saturday and will link the districts of Worsbrough, Birdwell, Hoyland, Chapeltown, Ecclesfield, Shiregreen and Wincobank. Coach Hire Tates Travel is a family owned business with many years experience in the coach, bus and minibus industry. Our company operates coaches from Sheffield, Barnsley & Dewsbury in Yorkshire and is split into three divisions. Our vehicles are maintained in our 6000 sq ft workshops in Barnsley. They are vigorously maintained and safety inspected as approved by the Ministry of Transport. Our fleet of 70 seater coaches are ideal for Schools as 2 classes can travel on 1 coach. The cost is generally far less than 2 standard coaches. These vehicles have all been converted to 70 seaters and have had a vigorous Ministry of Transport approved check prior to coming into service. We started in 2001 with one 70 seated coach and such is the demand for them we now operate 5 within the group. They all have full 3 point car type seat belts and some are fitted with T.V. and video facilities. We are one of only a very few operators who have this type of coach and early booking is essential. No other operator in the Barnsley / Wakefield / Dewsbury / Sheffield area have this type of vehicle, so demand for them is always high.
